The legendary Paris World Exhibition in 1867 brought the world the Eiffel Tower, millions of visitors lasting impressions - and Anton Gerstner a gold medal for his pâtisserie creations. This inspired him to experiment with Parisian cream and launched the cake that a century and a half later would carry his name around the world: the Gerstner cake.
